On the 15th October 2022, there will be a workshop run by Wessex Sculptor member David Knight to introduce you to subtractive sculpting using thermalite blocks.

A short introduction will demonstrate the safe use of a variety of stone carving tools.

You will be shown how you can give thermalite surfaces a texture, or how to produce a smooth finish. You may want to paint your piece with water or oil-based paints in which case bring any you have from home.

Much of the work may be done outside under a gazebo, so suitable clothing is advised.

Cost, to include all carving materials and use of tools: £40 members, £60 non-members.  Light refreshments will be provided but please bring your own lunch.  Full payment in advance is required to secure a place. ReEimbursement on cancellation less than a week before the workshop date will only be made if we can fill your place.

There are only 8 places available for this workshop so if you are interested  in taking one please let us know by sending a message via our  CONTACT page.
