As a registered charity, our mission statement aims to advance the education of the public by the provision of facilities and tuition in the art of sculpture. As members, we enjoy the use of studio space, tools, materials and the company and inspiration of fellow members to produce our own work, but we also enjoy passing on our enthusiasm and expertise to anyone, young and old, interested in having a go at creating 3 dimensional forms. We have put on workshops, talks and demonstrations both at our studio and at home venues for Hampshire schools, groups and art societies. The images above and below show what can be achieved in just one workshop by using a soft material like thermalite blocks to carve into.

Workshops led by visiting artists to our studio have covered a variety of techniques and materials, including life modelling using plaster, portrait heads in clay, how to anodise aluminium, willow weaving and papier maché to mention a few. If you would like a place on our next workshop, please check the WORKSHOP page to see what might be coming up and use the form on the CONTACT page if there is a workshop you would be interested in attending.
We also enjoy working with other organisations such as schools and art and sculpture societies, giving talks, workshops and demonstrations. If you would like us to visit your organisation or group, please fill in and submit the form on the CONTACT page.

Thank you for showing me it was really fun. What I liked the most was wire because it was amazing. I like the wood as well and the clay it was really cool because the shells popped up. Please will you come again because it was the most amazing thing I’ve seen?

Thank you for the wood surprise. I really like your Job. When I grow up I’ll be the same as you. That’s the job I like. But when I’m 12 I’ll be a face painter and when I’m 20 I’ll be a sculpter like David. I know I sound small but I’m not.

Thank you for coming up and helping me learn more about you I loved having you here and I loved to see the wood wire and clay sculptures. I liked the clay in my fingers. I must have looked funky when I tried on the African mask. Please will you come again?
