On Saturday 24 July, Lucille Scott ran an introductory workshop in creative copper work at the studio. This was an intensive introduction to working with copper, including techniques such as cutting and hammering out copper sheeting, soldering, working with wire. Lucille covered processes such as annealing, folding, spreading and shaping. It was a skills based day with lots to learn but by the end of the day everyone left with a copper bowl complete with a soldered base and a leaf made using fold forming techniques.
