Giles Summerhays

Giles Summerhays makes narrative ceramics working either with low fired Raku or high fired stoneware, particularly porcelain. He uses parody, satire, irony and metaphor to create meaning.

In his narrative ceramics, he particularly like to take the Mickey out of the over-privileged and over paid.

Giles latest project is a divergence from his usual practice, and is a series of portrait heads of well-known people made during lockdown and called Herculean Heads. He is donating each head to the charity of choice of each subject.
