On 31st May, basketmaker Linda Mills will run a workshop at our studio to show us how to make a willow frame basket using a mixture of different willow varieties and colours. They are idea for soft fruit gathering. Linda uses mainly Somerset grown Willow supplied by Coates of Meare Green or Musgroves of Westonzoyland, alongside special coloured varieties which Linda grows herself.
Linda has been weaving willow for 20 years following tuition from Jackie Binns M,Des, R.C.A. and Mary Butcher. She has been a full time basket maker since early 2013 and is a member of The Basketmakers’ Association.
Cost: £40 Members, £60 Non-members, to include all materials. Light refreshments provided, please bring your own lunch.
